Abigail Sims, MA, LPC, NCC, CCTP

Have you ever had a behavior you didn't like or understand? Have you ever felt emotions that were confusing to you? I love helping clients learn the root of their behaviors and triggers to help them heal their relationship to themselves and others. I am committed to creating a safe, authentic environment where clients can always feel comfortable being who they are.
I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a recent graduate of Liberty University with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Ohio and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) in Washington. I have experience working with individuals, couples, and families with PTSD and C-PTSD, mood disorders, and attachment and relationship issues. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and am trained in EMDR.
I use a combination of psychodynamic therapy, person-centered therapy, and EMDR with an emphasis on teaching self-regulation skills and providing psychoeducation on the central nervous system. I believe in the powerful connection between childhood and adulthood, with a focus on processing childhood wounds and trauma. I'm incredibly passionate about creating a space where all people from all walks of life can feel free to come as they are.
