Shannon Dunn, MSW, LISW

I am deeply and genuinely passionate about the experiences that have sparked an interest in my clients in gaining awareness of their inner world I believe that connections and relationships are at the core of our wellbeing and when those are fragmented, our lives can begin to feel unmanageable.

I am an independently licensed social worker with 9 years of experience assisting individuals on their journey of defining their inner truth. Through my approach, I am interested in providing a warm, accepting environment where deep inner work can occur.

Healing often starts with accepting that our early experiences may have impacted our ability to form and sustain healthy connections in our adult lives. The early connections or lack thereof limit our brain’s ability to send messages of safety and security in otherwise safe environments.

I firmly trust that with compassionate and ongoing therapeutic support, these wounds can be healed and individuals can develop healthy, safe connections with others, making a vast difference in overall life satisfaction.

I employ a blended and tailored approach to the healing process as each client is unique and benefits from a variety of methods.
I am experienced in therapeutic approaches such as:
· person-centered
· dialectical/cognitive-behavioral
· mindfulness/meditation
· trauma-informed care
· polyvagal
· internal family systems (IFS)

I have experience working with clients with a variety of presenting concerns such as:
· depression
· anxiety
· PTSD/C-PTSD
· bipolar disorder
· addiction
· psychosis
· attachment wounds

I have a special interest in working with individuals who have attachment wounds, in addition to working with individuals who are on the journey of engaging in ENM (ethical non-monogamy) or polyamorous relationships. Ultimately, love is an abundant and infinite resource. I am interested in assisting individuals in managing personal/relationship boundaries and communication in this type of relationship structure.

I am grateful to be a part of your healing journey and I am prepared to assist you in developing increased self-compassion as well as collaboratively identifying sustainable coping strategies to manage external and internal stressors.
