More than anything, I am pragmatic in my practice through ongoing training, personal healing, self-discovery, and growth work. Life is hard and there is no way getting around this fact. I join you in experiencing the pains of existence and working with and transforming these pains into a full and meaningful life.

I am a former health and wellness coach/educator turned psychotherapist. My realization of the connection between chronic medical conditions, obesity, feeling disconnected from our own bodies and issues of mental health, drove me back into and helped me become grounded in helping others care for and nurture their own minds and mental wellbeing in a therapeutic setting.

I can help if…

A small voice in your head tells you that something big needs to change.

If you are tired of your internal experience of your self not matching the person that you live as day-to-day.

If you feel exhausted comparing yourself to others, wanting to live the way you see other people living, yet struggling to make consistent and meaningful change.

I can help guide and be with you as you recover from the loss and hurt of trauma. These traumas and emotional imprints so often derive from our family or origin, current and past intimate relationships and the slow grind of neglect, invalidation and feeling alone / misunderstood. Many of us are considering therapy as a recovery from a narcissistic partner or parent or from the recognize pattern of codependency. I can help coach you to healthy boundaries to prevent repeating the patterns of relationships of the past, and helping you grow a foundation for future relationships that will add to the vitality of your life. Together we can pursue emotional sobriety from addictive patterns and  learn how to restructure your life outside of the traditional 12 step programs.

For new and expecting parents. I know this is a most likely one of the most significant, wonderful and stressful periods of your life. As a Certified Attached At The Heart Parenting Educator we can work together towards creating a healthy and lasting attachment to your baby as well as with your partner/co-parent/caretakers. We will work together to pursue working relationships where everyone, including your baby, feels respected, safe and loved.

You can learn more about EMDR and what it can do for you here.

At the core of our work together will be establishing a relationship built on compassion, mutual respect and openness. The stress and demands of life can often reduce our ability to acknowledge, live through and express ourselves authentically. I believe that building a strong and stable relationship allows us to begin our healing and growth work from a place of trust. This is foundation that I will work to create for you. I use an integrative approach, combining several techniques with an emphasis on mindfulness based methods, motivational interviewing, attachment theory and DBT.

I look forward to speaking with you and answering any questions you may have.
