Bridgette Inukiha'angana, MA, LPC, NCC
I am a recent Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Ohio. I am a trauma informed and multiculturally aware clinician that has experience working with individuals that range in age from 5 years old - adulthood and families that are impacted by many mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, symptoms of PTSD and C-PTSD, mood disorders, relational issues, anger management (not to be confused with the absence of anger), dysfunctional family dynamics and more. I believe most mental health concerns stem from trauma (in any stage of life) and that facilitating a safe space for people to discuss and process these events allows ever changing healing and a better understanding of one's true self. I believe Childhood and adulthood interweave into a persons current reality and the therapy space is a place to untangle the childhood events that continue to impact your current life.
My experience working with adults has been gained through working with a diverse population in the individual therapy space and facilitating anger management groups. I’m also experienced in helping children who are facing emotional and behavioral difficulties. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and previously worked full time in an elementary school as part of the mental health support team for students. This experience has given me unique insight into the behavioral and emotional needs of children and teens, allowing me to work effectively with this age group.
I utilize a multifaceted approach to therapy by using multiple evidence based strategies that allow clients to gain the skills needed to facilitate lasting change in their lives. Somatic healing is important to me in the therapy room and I believe once we learn how our body responds to certain events we can learn to love the safety our nervous system and body try to create. My approach to therapy is heavily person centered and individualized for each client’s specific needs. My belief that people are constantly changing to better suit their needs drives my enthusiasm to walk with client’s to become the version of themselves they desire to be, while also loving and respecting the current version of who they are.
I hold a strong belief that every person deserves a space and connection that is solely for them. Therapy can be this place and I would be honored to create a strong, healthy, therapeutic connection that will allow you to grow.
