Jonathan is currently a clinical social work associate (CSWA) in Oregon and is a Florida native who believes that everyone needs a safe place to explore, grow, and heal in the presence of
another.


Throughout his career, Jonathan has worked with various populations. In Alaska, he split time earning a Masters in Social Work and as a Behavioral Health Specialist in the Army National Guard working with soldiers, families, and adolescents.


Before joining Root Counseling, Jonathan gained extensive experience as a therapist and group facilitator for a Batterer’s Intervention program and then a women’s residential treatment facility. He has supported many suffering from various concerns, including PTSD and trauma recovery,
dissociation, mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and domestic violence.


Jonathan is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and utilizes a solution-focused approach in combination with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). He aims to assist patients in developing one’s
self-concept, authenticity and support network as being at the core of leading a healthy,
productive life.
